My name is Connie Nakagawa. I really enjoy teaching 4th grade. I have been at LeGette since 1977 (when my daughter enrolled in kindergarten). Originally, I was an instructional aid who was encouraged to return to school and get my teaching credential. I recently completed my masters in education with an emphasis in technology. My hobbies include sewing, crocheting, and crafts. I really like Japanese food. My favorite color is blue. Math is one of my stronger areas to teach, and finding ways to integrate art across the curriculum is challenging (but I somehow get it done). Having performed in the “Up With People” group as a teenager adds a musical touch to my style. My son, Jerry, and my daughter, Cindi, give me lots of encouragement and help around the classroom. I frequently explore historic sites of California over the breaks.
